China's “Big Three” airlines record 300% passenger increase over 2022

Air China, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) and China Southern Airlines (CSA) have reported triple digit year-on-year increases in air traffic in their latest traffic updates. Read More » Air China flew 10.6 million passengers on its domestic network in October, up 233.4% from a year ago. CSA reported a 220.8% 9.6 million increase in passengers for the 31 days and CEA delivered a 198.3% improvement, to 12 million in-country passengers transported, for the month. All three airlines said domestic passenger load factor was above or close to 80% for the month. CSA led the way with an 81.9% load factor followed by CEA (78.9%) and Air China (78.8%).
