Batik Air Malaysia will start nonstop Kuala Lumpur-Tashkent in Uzbekistan on December 15 with a flight a week to be flown with an A330-300. Read More » Batik Air and Lion Group strategy director, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, said Tashkent was a “hidden gem” with its rich history and distinctive culture. “In Uzbekistan, the vibrant tapestry of the nation is woven with the threads of diversity. At its heart lays a resilient Muslim community of three quarters of its population whose faith and traditions enrich the cultural fabric,” Datuk Chandran said. The Lion Group airline's A330-300s are configured with 12 seats in business and 365 in economy.
