China Southern Airlines returns to Brisbane

The Mainland’s largest airline group, China Southern Airlines (CSA), has resumed flying to a fourth destination in Australia after touching down in Brisbane from Guangzhou last weekend. Read More » It was CSA's first flight to Queensland’s capital city from its home hub since suspension of the route after the breakout of the pandemic. The airline is operating four flights a week on the route until December 8 when it will increase frequency to daily rotations. “This is an exciting moment with the resumption of flights from Guangzhou to Brisbane,” CSA regional general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Jason Sun, said. “With strong collaboration, China Southern Airlines aims to expand the ‘Canton Route’ and contribute to the influx of tourists from China, as well as business and leisure travellers from other parts of the globe, to Queensland. We also look forward to welcoming Aussies to China.” Brisbane joins Melbourne, Perth and Sydney in the airline's Australian network. Pre-pandemic, CSA also operated to Adelaide and Cairns from Guangdong.
