AirAsia X headed to Kazakhstan

AirAsia X (AAX) is expanding its route network to Kazakhstan with nonstop flights to Almaty due to commence on March 14 2024. Read More » It is the LCC's first destination in the Central Asian region. AAX says it will be the first Malaysian airline to fly to Almaty. The route will operate four times a week as a lunchtime departure from Kuala Lumpur and an overnight service from Almaty. “This is an entirely new market for AAX and a strategic route to expand into, bringing other parts of the world closer to Southeast Asia," AirAsia X CEO, Benyamin Ismail, said. "As our first foray into Central Asia, the expansion into the Kazakh market is a strong testament to our vision and determination to explore new territories as well as resuming services to our most popular destinations post pandemic."
