Batik Air adds nonstop Melbourne service

Batik Air has launched a seasonal four times weekly nonstop flight between Melbourne and its Kuala Lumpur hub due to begin on December 20 and operate until February 6 2024. Read More » This new nonstop service will be served with A330-300 aircraft configured with 12 business and 365 economy seats and join Malindo's existing Melbourne-Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur offering with 737 equipment. "We are thrilled to introduce this widebody direct flight to Melbourne, which is a testament to our commitment to meeting our passengers' needs," Batik Air group strategic director, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, said. “Melbourne stands as a top-tier vacation destination and we have recognised the increasing demand for direct connectivity to Australia especially during the peak holidays and travel season." The Lion Air Group carrier's Australia network consisted of nonstop Kuala Lumpur-Adelaide and Kuala Lumpur-Perth services, a Kuala Lumpur-Perth-Auckland rotation, as well as one-stop flights from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to Kuala Lumpur via Denpasar.
