Fiji Airways lands in New Caledonia

Fiji Airways has expanded its Pacific network with the start of nonstop flights to Noumea in New Caledonia. Read More » The inaugural service, FJ291 operated by 737 MAX 8 registration DQ-FAD, touched down at Noumea at 1230 local time on November 30, following a two-hour journey from Nadi. After three hours on the ground, the aircraft operated the reciprocal FJ290 back to Nadi. Fiji Airways has scheduled two flights a week on the route. "There is a growing demand for connectivity across the Pacific and indeed the world, and we stand ready to fill this need when and where possible,” Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, said. “New Caledonia being a French territory, there is a lot of traffic between France and Noumea. We are in a unique position to provide seamless travel options via our flights to North America and Asia and codeshare thereon."
