AirAsia Malaysia has paid tribute to former Sabah Tourism Board general manager, Datuk Irene Benggon Charuruks, by naming an A320 after the Sabah “tourism icon” and including a special livery under the aircraft's flight deck windows. Datuk Irene died in February 2021. She was 70. “Irene, this special livery is for you. It will be the first plane we ever named and we dedicate it to you,” Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, said.
China Airlines agrees a deal with GE Aerospace for the repair and replacement of high pressure compressor air foils on the GE CF6-80C engines that power the SkyTeam alliance member's 13 747-400F freighters.
Vietjet and Novus Aviation Capital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a vehicle for aircraft financing and leasing, initially for 15 aircraft the LCC has ordered from Airbus and Boeing. The MoU includes working together on developing sustainable aviation fuel production in Vietnam with Novus platform, SAF One.
