South Korea’s transport ministry reports busier skies through the country’s air traffic corridors

Air traffic in South Korean airspace grew 45% in 2023 compared with the previous year, the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has announced. Read More » The country’s flight corridors were used by 780,635 airplanes last year against 539,788 aircraft in 2022. The 2023 numbers were lower than pre-pandemic levels of 842,041 airplanes traversing the North Asia air paths. The Transport Ministry predicts, given the rapid pace of recovery since August last year, that air traffic operating in South Korean airspace is on track to exceed 2019 levels within the year.
