Asiana Airlines schedules second seasonal service to Melbourne
February 21st 2024
Asiana Airlines will operate another round of seasonal flights from Seoul Incheon to Melbourne Tullamarine from mid-year. Read More » The South Korean carrier commenced flying to Tullamarine from its Seoul Incheon hub in last December, operating two flights weekly with A350-900s. The service will be temporarily withdrawn later this month. After the hiatus, Asiana will increase the route’s frequency to four times a week between the two cities from July 2 to September 2. “Seoul was Melbourne’s largest unserved market, so it was no surprise to us when we saw an average load factor of 96% on all the January Asiana flights arriving into Melbourne, representing fewer than 10 vacant seats on almost every flight,” Melbourne Airport chief of aviation, Jim Parashos, said. “This is a big commitment and a sign of faith from Asiana in the Melbourne market. Hopefully, it will pave the way for year round services.”
