Air India, Tata to invest US$277 million in Karnataka State aerospace industry

Air India and Tata Advanced Systems have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Karnataka State to invest up to 23 billion rupee (US$277 million) in aviation industries. Read More » The MoU commits Air India to developing an MRO shop at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport and to increasing its network from the southern India city. “The agreement with the government and Bangalore International Airport comes at an opportune time and not only will bolster the state’s aviation ecosystem, but be a step ahead in our mission to become a world class airline and provide our customers with the elevated travel experience they truly deserve,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. Tata Advanced Systems agreed to establish aircraft modification, conversions, completion and defence MRO facilities in Karnataka as well as other manufacturing and research and development projects.
