Hong Kong Airlines boosts staff salaries

Hong Kong Airlines has increased the salaries of its employees by up to 5%, with the change in staff pay packets starting at the beginning of this month. Read More » Flight crew and ground staff are receiving a 3.8% rise in basic pay and the salaries of technical staff primarily engaged in maintenance and engineering roles have gone up 5%. The hourly rate for pilots also has increased 5%. Hong Kong Airlines said the pay rises reflected a “commendable recovery” in 2023, when the airline recorded an average passenger load factor of 85% and rebuilt a network of 25 destinations from its Hong Kong home hub. “The rapid business recovery of Hong Kong Airlines, particularly in light of the numerous challenges it faced, was no small achievement,” Hong Kong Airlines chair, Jeff Sun, said. “We have not only reinstated most of our in-demand destinations but have introduced new spots for travellers. I am proud of our staff for their exceptional resilience and adaptability, ensuring passenger safety, maintaining of the company’s revenue and recording outstanding punctuality in the transition period last year.”
