AirAsia X records US$77 million profit in fiscal 2023

AirAsia X (AAX) has reported a net profit of 366.5 million ringgit (US$77 million) for the 12 months to December 31, down 98.9% from a 33.1 billion ringgit net profit in the same months in 2022. Read More » Revenue rose 283.3% to 2.5 billion ringgit, Malaysia-listed AAX said in a regulatory filing. Its Malaysia carrier has 18 A330-300s in its fleet with 16 activated and operational. Its Thailand subsidiary is flying seven of its eight A330-300s. “With a number of new specification longer range, more efficient aircraft on order across the AirAsia Aviation Group, including the A330neo and A321XLR, we are exploring several new medium to longer haul destinations to Europe, Africa and the United States,” AAX CEO, Benyamin Ismail, said.
