Korean Air confirms A350 order

Airbus said Korean Air (KAL) has finalised an order for 27 A350-1000s and six A350-900s, a deal first disclosed in March. Read More » KAL, a new A350 customer, said at the time the A350s will supplement its long-term fleet operations as older aircraft are gradually retired. The airline added the A350s are part of preparations for the planned integration of Asiana Airlines into KAL. KAL chief safety and operating officer, Jason Yoo, said on April 2 the A350 is a great fit for the airline's global network. “We are confident the introduction of the A350 to our fleet will drive operational efficiencies and elevate the overall travel experience for our passengers.” Airbus executive vice president commercial aircraft sales, Benoit de Saint Exupéry, said he looked forward to seeing the A350 in operation in KAL's iconic livery.
