Air India to build Bengaluru into premier aviation hub

Air India (AI), and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) intend to develop Bengaluru into southern India’s premier aviation hub boosting connectivity into and from India. Read More » Key pillars of the project are strengthening the airline’s presence at BIAL with an enhanced network and establishing a dedicated domestic lounge at the airport for premium and frequent travellers on Tata Group airlines, Air India and Vistara. AI also has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Karnataka to establish comprehensive MRO facilities. “Airline-airport synergy is key to an elevated customer experience and efficient operations and Bengaluru is highly attractive as an origin and destination market and a connecting hub. We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with BIAL with a view to developing a greater presence at the airport, expanding air connectivity and building a major MRO center,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said.
