Brisbane Airport to commence runway maintenance in July
April 15th 2024
Brisbane Airport has advised nearby residents they may be impacted by rectification work on one of the airport's two runways. Read More » The work entails the replacement of 18 ageing concrete slabs and the removal and reinstatement of line-markings, airfield ground lighting, signage and entry point markings. As a consequence, the runway’s length will be temporarily shortened from 3.5km to 2.7km and result in approximately 30 wide-body flights a day, including about six in the 2200-0600 time period, operating to and from a recently opened parallel runway. “We understand this will affect some people living in nearby communities and we apologise, but this is essential work to keep us safe and connected to the world,” Brisbane Airport CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, said.
