Bonza administrators extend flight cancellations to mid-May

However, the lessors of Bonza’s grounded 737 MAX 8s have not agreed to release their aircraft for flying. “The administrators have been in discussions with the lessors of the aircraft to determine if the grounded aircraft could become operational in the short term,” Hall Chadwick said in a statement on the Bonza website. “Regretfully, the administrators have been advised the lessors will continue to enforce their rights under the termination notices and subject to their own requirements and arrangements‚ seek to reposition the fleet elsewhere. This is a difficult situation and the administrators recognise the significant impact on all stakeholders, including the company’s employees and customers.” Hall Chadwick has scheduled a creditors meeting for May 10. Earlier this week, it stood down 302 of Bonza's 323 employees.
