China Eastern Airlines international traffic recovers to 91% of pre-pandemic levels

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) passenger traffic increased 34.93% in April over the same month in 2023. Read More » Capacity expanded by 20.06% and passenger load factor by 8.93 percentage points year-on-year, to 81%. Air freight volume also increased in the 30 days, by 88.03% year-on-year. CEA accepted three ARJ series aircraft and one A320 into its fleet in the month and retired an A320. At April 30, CEA was operating 309 self-owned aircraft, 255 aircraft under finance lease and 225 aircraft under operating lease.
