India’s carriers increased domestic passengers by 2.4% in April

Airlines across India carried 13.2 million in-country passengers in April, 2.4% above the 12.9 million domestic passengers they flew in the same month in 2023. Read More » The Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) data showed LCC IndiGo was the country’s leading domestic carrier for the 30 days with 8 million passengers, or 60.6% of the domestic market, followed by Tata’s Air India at 1.9 million passengers (14.2% market share) and Vistara at 1.2 million customers (9.2% market share). The DGCA monthly report said Vistara and SpiceJet had the highest domestic passenger load factor in the month at 90.9%, followed by Akasa Air at 87.9% and IndiGo at 86.6%.
