Hong Kong Airlines has commenced commercial service with the A321 aircraft type. Read More » The inaugural service with the Airbus narrowbody, registration B-LPR, was the HX775 from Hong Kong to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on Saturday. The 14-year-old leased aircraft, configured with 220 seats in a single-class layout, has only been deployed on the Hong Kong-Bangkok route since it started operating with Hong Kong Airlines. "This new addition joins the existing fleet of A330s and A320s, strengthening the airline's network capacity of its medium and short-haul routes across Asia and allowing it to introduce new routes and accommodate diverse market demands," Hong Kong Airlines said. The airline said it expected to grow its fleet to 28 aircraft by the end of 2024, up from 21 aircraft currently.
