Australia's Regional Airlines (Rex) has scheduled its first domestic E190 services to be operated by its charter and fly-in/fly-our subsidiary, National Jet Express (NJE). Read More » The E190s, either fitted with 104 or 110 seats, will launch nonstop three times weekly Adelaide-Perth from June 28. It is Rex's 12th domestic jet route and will follow nonstop Melbourne-Perth earlier next month. “This is terrific news for Perth and Adelaide travellers because more operators mean more competition,” NJE director, Anthony Gibara, said. “We intend to increase the number of services once we are established on the route.” Adelaide Airport managing director, Brenton Cox, said: “It’s great to witness Rex’s growth in the domestic market, offering more choice for travellers on one of our key domestic routes. In this case, just in time for the July school holidays. The new service will help fill a capacity gap and stimulate traffic volumes on the route.”
