MUFG has closed a 10-year Finance Lease with Asiana Airlines. MUFG acted as the Mandated Lead Arranger and Senior Lender among other roles in this transaction. The bank provided Japanese yen financing for the deal, which was secured by a new A321NX aircraft that is core to Asiana’s fleet. “We are very pleased to be able to support Asiana once again, this time through this important commercial financing, at a time when Korea’s aviation industry is undergoing significant transformation. This transaction reaffirms MUFG’s track record in arranging and structuring tailored solutions as well as our commitment to support our clients notwithstanding the uncertain market environment” MUFG’s Managing Director & Head of Aviation Finance, Asia Pacific, June Raj, said.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China has announced Yining Airport will be renamed Yili Yining International Airport. Other airports being built in China also have received their official names. They are Xiamen Xiang'an International, Dalian Jinzhou Bay International, Hohhot Shengle International, Barkol Dahe, Hejing Bayinbuluke, Suifenhe Dongning, Fugu Fuzhou, Ganzhou Ruijin and Jiaxing Nanhu.
