China Southern Airlines reports 16% year-on-year traffic growth in latest update

China Southern Airlines (CSA) carried more than 15 million passengers in July, an addition of 8.7% from a year ago. Read More » The southern China carrier recorded above 1.6 million travellers on international routes for the month, representing 58% year-on-year growth. Passenger capacity was 12% more than July 2023 with revenue passenger kilometres better by 16%. Domestic, regional and international passengers increased 6%, 32% and 66%, respectively, compared with the matching 31 days last year. Passenger load factor increased 2.84%, to 83.77%, against July 2023. The CSA group welcomed four 737-8s and a COMAC ARJ21 into its fleet during the month and retired an A330-200, a 737-800 and a 737-700. At July 31, the airline had a commercial operating fleet of 909 airliners.
