Passenger throughput at Kuala Lumpur International Airport improves 22.2%

Passengers travelling through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) were more numerous in July, at 5.2 million, compared with the 4.3 million air travellers processed through the airport in the same month in 2023. Read More » KLIA’s domestic passenger numbers rose 6.3%, to 1.4 million, and international passengers improved 28%, to 3.8 million, KLIA operator, Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB), said in an update. The KLIA data, as well as figures from its portfolio of airports in Malaysia and Turkey, indicate traffic was on an “optimistic growth path”, MAHB said. Highlighting the recovery in international traffic were figures that show KLIA international passengers from outside the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were higher by 36.6%, at 2 million air travellers, outpacing a 19.6% increase in ASEAN traffic to 1.8 million air travellers.
