Air China’s traffic update reports 14.9% increase in passengers flown

Air China transported 15.3 million passengers on its domestic and international network last month, from 13.3 million air travellers carried in August 2023. Read More » Domestic passengers increased 9%, to 13.1 million, and international air travellers transported jumped 94.6%, to 1.6 million, for the 31 days. The traffic update said passenger capacity grew 12.4% in August from a year ago, due to expansion of international flying. Domestic capacity, or available seat kilometres, eased 0.5% in the month. The flag carrier’s overall passenger load factor was 6.3 percentage points higher at 82.9%, Air China said, and added it accepted seven aircraft into its fleet in the month and withdrew three airplanes from flying. Its total operating aircraft stood at 921 on August 31.
