Tokyo Narita passengers improve 11.3% in August, hit post-pandemic high

Tokyo Narita Airport said it processed 3.6 million air travellers in August compared with 3.2 million passengers 12 months earlier. Read More » It was the airport's highest monthly total since January 2020, when the airport processed 3.8 million passengers through its three terminals. International passenger throughput was better by 19% for the month, at 2.9 million customers, but domestic traveller numbers declined 11.8% to 702,885, Narita International Airport Corporation said. Despite posting its highest monthly total in more than four years, Tokyo Narita's overall passenger numbers remained below pre-COVID-19 levels. Passenger traffic in the month was 85% of the 4.2 million domestic and international air travellers who passed through its terminals in August 2019.
