Kuala Lumpur International Airport posts 15.8% increase in passenger throughput

Malaysia Airports (MAHB) said passengers processed through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) were higher by 15.8% (4.7 million) in October compared with 4.1 million air travellers recorded in the same period a year ago. Read More » KLIA’s domestic passenger numbers were higher by 4.3%, at 1.2 million, and international passengers rose 20.5% to 3.5 million, MAHB said in a regulatory filing. Passenger movements continued to show resilience in the reported month, the company said and noted its airports are operating at 90% of pre-COVID-19 levels. Growth has been underpinned by 34 new and additional weekly flight frequencies at its six international and domestic airports, MAHB added.
