Airport Authority Hong Kong acquires 35% of neighbouring Zhuhai Airport

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), the operator of Hong Kong International Airport, has agreed with Zhuhai Transportation Holding Group to acquire 35% of Zhuhai Airport for 4.3 billion yuan (US$593 million). Read More » “With AAHK’s acquisition of shares in Zhuhai Airport, we will capitalise on the strengths of the two airports by leveraging the convenience offered by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge,” AAHK chair, Fred Lam, said. “This will bring more passenger and cargo traffic to Zhuhai Airport and enable travellers from Zhuhai and other cities in the western Greater Bay Area to enjoy the global connectivity provided by HKIA’s extensive aviation network.” AAHK said its Hong Kong-Zhuhai Airport Management Company Limited subsidiary's rights to operate and manage Zhuhai Airport have been extended to 2046.
