Thai AirAsia flags expansion at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi hub

Thai AirAsia (TAA) CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said the LCC intends to base more aircraft at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in response to rapid local demand. Read More » The airline added two routes to its network from Suvarnabhumi - to Khon Kaen and Udon Thani - on February 3. They will operate alongside TAA's existing services to Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Krabi and Phuket. "We are expanding our Airbus fleet at Suvarnabhumi Airport to four aircraft this month with plans to reach six aircraft by the end of the year," Santisuk said. "This will allow us to increase flight frequencies and introduce more domestic routes to our schedules. Our goal is to be the airline with the most domestic routes operating from Suvarnabhumi Airport."
