Boeing predicts 400% increase in India and South Asia airline fleet

Boeing’s India and South Asia Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) forecasts exponential aviation growth in the region as a result of its robust economies, improved connectivity and liberalized aviation policies. By 2043, it forecast, its airlines will add 2,835 commercial aircraft to their fleets: 2,445 single-aisles and 370 wide-bodies. “People will have greater access to air travel and the region's airlines will require modern fuel efficient fleets to meet increased demand,” Boeing managing director commercial marketing for India and South Asia, Ashwin Naidu, said. The CMO also predicts the region's air traffic will increase by more than 7% a year to 2043.
