Asiana Airlines announces 478.5 billion won loss for three quarters to last December

Asiana Airlines recorded a net loss of 478.5 billion won (US$330 million) for the nine months to December 31 compared with a net profit of 40.3 billion won in the same period in 2023. Its financial results were impacted by exchange rate movements - the South Korean won has fallen more than 8% against the US dollar in the past year – and one-time costs associated with its merger with Korean Air, the Star Alliance member said. More positively, the airline said revenue had improved because of strong demand particularly on international routes.
