Read More » The LCC's 2024 and fourth quarter operating statistics released late last week said the airline flew 7.7 million passengers on its international flights last year, up 10% from 2023. Domestic passengers had returned to pre-COVID-19 levels, TAA said, and added international traffic had reached 85% of its pre-pandemic numbers. Growth was "primarily driven" by guests from India, Vietnam and Taiwan after the airline increased its network and frequency to meet strong tourism demand. "For flights between China and Thailand, guest numbers saw a gradual improvement, remaining at 50% of 2019 levels as Chinese travellers tended to focus on domestic tourism," AAV said. AAV noted the Tourism Authority of Thailand had predicted a "full recovery" to pre-COVID-19 levels this year with total tourist arrivals into the country forecast to be 40 million.
