Air India and Lufthansa Group announce significant code-sharing expansion

Air India and Lufthansa Group have extended their longstanding partnership to Austrian Airlines, an addition to an existing code-share with Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and Lufthansa. Read More » The enhanced agreement will add near 60 code-share routes to the networks of the four airlines across 12 Indian and 26 European cities. It will increase Air India, Lufthansa and SWISS code-share routes from 55 to nearly 100. Additionally, customers of the Lufthansa Group carriers now can connect to Air India’s domestic services from 15 points in India and Lufthansa Group carriers now have their codes on Air India routes from Delhi and Mumbai to Kathmandu, Melbourne and Sydney. Air India and Lufthansa Group flights between India and Germany or Switzerland also are covered by the expanded code-share.
