Qantas Airways resumes Singapore-Darwin after near two decade absence

Qantas Airways commenced nonstop four times a week Darwin-Singapore on March 30, the first time in almost 20 years the oneworld alliance member is linking Australia’s “Top End” capital with Singapore. Read More » Inaugural QF113, operated by 737-800 registration VH-VZY, took off from Darwin around 1500 local time and landed at Changi Airport just before 1800. After 90 minutes on the ground the aircraft, as QF114, departed for Darwin. “We are delighted to be offering Territorians another international connection with a faster and more seamless way to travel with Qantas to Asia and Europe,” Qantas international CEO, Cam Wallace, said. “The flights will provide more travel options for locals and international tourists and strengthen important trade and business links between Australia and Singapore.” Qantas competes with Singapore Airlines on the route. Qantas Group carrier, Singapore-based Jetstar Asia, ended its flights to Darwin in August 2022.
