Japan Airlines (JAL) and CFM International have finalized an order for LEAP-1B engines to power 17 additional 737-8s. The commitment follows JAL’s March 2023 order for 21 LEAP-powered 737s.
Singapore has designated 17 transport companies as critical firms subject to greater regulatory scrutiny under a law effective from this April 1. The Transport Sector (Critical Firms) Act will give the government tighter control over major Singaporean companies in the air, land and sea transport sectors, with approval required for key leadership changes and when an entity gains control of more than 5% of a firm. The companies include Singapore Airlines (SIA), SATS and SIA Engineering Company.
Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) and Embraer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore potential industrial cooperation. Separately, Embraer has announced it delivered 30 aircraft in first quarter 2025, 20% more deliveries than in the matching months a year ago.
Unical Aviation has acquired a fleet of A320neo airframes for disassembly by subsidiary, ecube, with the first aircraft due for part-out this month. The program is the first dedicated disassembly program for A320neo-family aircraft.
