Passenger air traffic in Vietnam returns to pre-pandemic demand

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) data reports more than 20.7 million passengers took aircraft journeys from Vietnam’s airports in the first quarter of 2025, 9.2% more than in the same months a year ago. Read More » Airlines transported nine million domestic passengers at 5.4% year-on-year growth, and 11.7 million international passengers, a 12.3% increase over the same months in 2024. In the peak travel season of Tết, from January 14 to February 12, approximately 7.3 million passengers took airline flights, up 11.7% from Tet in 2024. The figures reflected a return to pre-COVID activity and demonstrate a growth trend, with international passenger numbers increasing by 11% and domestic numbers up by 5.8% compared with 2019, CAAV said.
