STARLUX Airlines will accept one A350-1000 in 2025 rather than three of the wide-bodies

Taiwan’s STARLUX Airlines has reduced its plan to accept three of the Airbus wide-bodies to a single delivery, the airline’s vice president and chief strategy officer, Liu Yun-fu, told ET Today in an exclusive interview. Read More » Five A350-1000s will be delivered to the full-service carrier in 2026 and the final two of the type in 2027. The airline also will accept the first of 10 ordered A350Fs in the first quarter of 2028, instead of 2027 as originally planned, Liu said. All ordered freighters will be operating in the STARLUX fleet by year-end 2029, the airline said, and added it had received all 10 of its committed A350-900s. The carrier operates five A330neo and is expecting delivery of two more in 2025 and another four next year. STARLUX has a fleet of A321neo with six more on order. The first stage of its fleet expansion will be concluded by the end of 2027, when the airline plans to be flying 48 passenger jets. Liu said STARLUX is actively working on the second phase of its aircraft acquisition strategy. It will inaugurate Taipei to Ontario in June and Bali in 2026. New destinations being considered from the end of this year and in first quarter 2026 are Taipei-Europe flights after a recently signed Air Service Agreement between Taiwan and Finland that offers the possibility for direct flights to Helsinki. The carrier also is evaluating flying its A350-1000s to Texas, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and other destinations and increasing frequency and capacity on existing routes, Liu said.
