Bangkok Airways traffic update reports 10.6% drop in profit

Bangkok Airways booked a net profit of 1.7 billion baht (US$50 million) for the three months to March 31 against a 1.9 billion baht net profit in the same months last year. Read More » Revenue dipped 1.4%, to 5.7 billion baht, Bangkok Airways said and added the revenue and profit declines were the result of fewer ticket sales. Passenger numbers were 2.2% lower in the reported period, at 1.3 million air travellers, and turnover in other parts of the business was lower than in previous matching months. “The impact was partially offset by higher average air fares supported by strong demand on Samui inbound and outbound routes,” Bangkok Airways said.
