Ban on deliveries of U.S. manufactured airliners to Mainland customers cancelled

China has removed restrictions on the importation of new Boeing aircraft into the country, Bloomberg news agency reports, citing confidential sources. Read More » China imposed the ban after U.S. president Trump increased tariffs on most China imports to the U.S. to 145%. China retaliated with tariffs of 125% on U.S. goods exported to the Mainland, among other measures. This week the two countries agreed to lower tariffs for another 90 days with the U.S. reducing them to 30% on most goods and China slashing its tariffs to 10%. When the ban was in place, a number of Boeing aircraft built for Mainland airlines and being flown into the country had to be turned back to Seattle.
