Thai AirAsia parent books US$42 million profit in first quarter 2025

(AAV), the parent company of LCC Thai Airasia, has recorded a net profit of 1.4 billion baht (US$42 million) for the three months to March 31, a near 1.8 billion baht turnaround from a 409.1 million baht net loss in the same quarter a year ago. Read More » Revenue slipped 3%, to 13.6 billion baht, AAV said. “Thai AirAsia’s performance in the first quarter of 2025 highlights the company’s adaptability and resilience toward long-term financial sustainability,” AAV and Thai AirAsia CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said. “We are proud to have achieved a record 42% share of the domestic market, the highest in the country at March 31, 2025. This milestone is largely driven by our dual airport strategy of serving domestic routes from both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.” The company is optimistic about meeting its 2025 target of flying 23 million to 24 million passengers in 2025 compared with 20.8 million air travellers last year, the CEO said. The LCC is aiming for a passenger load factor of 90% and a fleet of 66 aircraft by year end.
