Australia’s international air travellers increased 1.6% reports traffic update

Read More » Qantas Airways retained passenger leadership with a 16.6% market share, albeit down from 16.8% a year ago, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) said. Qantas Group LCC, Jetstar Airways, was runner-up for the 31 days at 12.9% of all international passengers, an increase of 1.2 percentage points from a year ago. Singapore Airlines (SIA) was Australia’s largest foreign carrier for the month with a 9% market share followed by Air New Zealand (7.8%) and Emirates (4.9%). SIA topped the monthly table for international freight with 14.6% of the market ahead of Qantas (10.5%) and Cathay Pacific (8.4%).
