Air New Zealand and Air China team up to attract Mainland visitors to New Zealand

Air New Zealand (Air NZ), Air China and Tourism New Zealand have established a partnership, including US$417,000 in marketing initiatives funded by Air NZ, to increase awareness of New Zealand as a destination for China’s travellers. Read More » Air NZ and Air China have an existing ten-year alliance on flights between the two countries. The New Zealand carrier serves Shanghai Pudong from its home hub and Air China flies to Auckland from Beijing Capital airport. “China is an incredibly important market for us and we are proud of the role our Shanghai service has played in connecting people, cargo and cultures in the last decade,” Air NZ CEO, Greg Foran, said. “This joint investment is an opportunity to stimulate growth in inbound tourism from China to New Zealand.” Chair of Air China’s parent company, China National Aviation Holding Company, Ma Chongxian, said: “Embracing the second decade of the China-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the 10th anniversary of the alliance partnership between Air China and Air NZ, we would like to join Air NZ and Tourism New Zealand in further facilitating market recovery and expanding collaboration to deepen practical cooperation and improve customer experience.”
