Daemyung Sono Group completes takeover of T’way Air

South Korea’s Daemyung Sono Group has finalized its ownership of T’way Air after a new board of directors was voted in at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders earlier this week. Read More » The LCC’s new CEO will be announced on June 27, local media reports. Current CEO, Chung Hong-geun, will step down after a decade at the helm of the airline. Daemyung Sono acquired management control of T’way Air last February after it purchased substantial equity from Yearim, the airline’s largest shareholder, for 250 billion won ($174.39 million). The deal has been approved by the Fair Trade Commission.
