Qantas expected to reveal details of customer data stolen in cyber-attack

Read More » On July 4, the company announced one of its customer contact centres was the victim of a cyber-attack with names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates and frequent flyer numbers hacked. "Next week, we will be in a position to update affected customers about the types of their personal data contained in the system," Qantas said. "This will confirm specific data fields for each individual which will vary from customer to customer." Qantas Group CEO, Vanessa Hudson, said the airline was focused on providing the "answers and transparency" its customers deserved. "Our investigation is progressing well with our cyber security teams working alongside leading external specialists to determine information accessed," she said. "We are finalizing a process to enable us to provide affected customers with more information about their personal information that potentially was compromised."
