AirAsia aims for equity injection of US$235 million from strategic investors

AirAsia is close to completion of its restructuring and in the process of identifying strategic investors, AirAsia deputy group CEO, Farouk Kamal, said at the Reuters NEXT Asia summit earlier this week. Read More » The LCC is aiming for a US$235 million equity injection into the group alongside financing for its extensive order of new planes, Kamal said. AirAsia is coming to the final conclusion of talks with investors "not just from an equity injection perspective, but from an overall transactions perspective", and hopes to make an announcement in "due course", he said.
