Cathay Group CEO, Ronald Lam, said late last week demand on Cathay Pacific’s nonstop Hong Kong-Riyadh route had grown steadily in the past year. Read More » Speaking at the Hong Kong and China government Belt and Road initiative, he said, "In October last year, Cathay Pacific launched direct flights between Hong Kong and Riyadh. To our pleasant surprise, demand was much stronger than expected, particularly between the Chinese Mainland and Riyadh via the Hong Kong hub. As a result, we increased our frequency from three to four return flights per week and I am pleased to share that starting next month, we will be operating daily to Riyadh." Cathay is the only airline offering nonstop passenger flights between Hong Kong and Riyadh. There are also several cargo operators on the route.
