Delivery timeline for 777-9X slips to 2027: report

Certification and first delivery of Boeing’s 777-9X has been pushed into the 2027 calendar year, from 2026 previously, the Bloomberg news agency reported, citing comments from unnamed sources. Read More » Launched in 2013, the 777-9X program has faced repeated delays through its development and now certification phase. It is currently six years behind schedule. Last month, Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg, told an investment conference the company was clearly behind in getting the 777-9X certified. Despite delays to the program, the 777-9X has continued to receive strong demand from airlines. Airlines in the Asia-Pacific region to have ordered Boeing’s big twin included All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines.
