IndiGo to add London Heathrow to UK network

IndiGo has announced London Heathrow will be its second destination to Britain as it continues its aggressive international expansion. Read More » The LCC will start daily Mumbai-London Heathrow on October 26 serviced with 787-9s on damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. The flights, which have been given flight numbers 6E1 and 6E2, will be an afternoon departure from Mumbai and an overnight service from Heathrow. IndiGo started flying Mumbai-Manchester in July 2025 and will open Delhi-Manchester in November. To date, IndiGo’s European network is Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Istanbul. "Entering Heathrow, a key global hub known for its scale and connectivity, is a proud milestone and a strategic step forward in strengthening IndiGo’s global footprint," IndiGo CEO, Pieter Elbers, said. "After the outstanding response to our long-haul debut flights to Manchester, we are excited to set foot in London, offering more travel options for our customers while reinforcing our commitment to provide seamless connectivity between India and the world." Media reports said IndiGo has leased slots from Virgin Atlantic for its Heathrow flights. The LCC will be the fifth airline flying nonstop Mumbai-Heathrow alongside Air Canada, Air India, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
