China Airlines books flat passenger numbers for September

Read More » The SkyTeam alliance member’s monthly traffic report said passenger load factor dropped 2.8 percentage points in the reported month to 69.8%, the lowest passenger load factor CAL has booked since the 64.5% of December 2022. Revenue passenger kilometres declined 6.5% in the 30 days. Passenger revenue was 8.3% lower, at TW$7.2 billion (US$234 million), from TW$7.8 billion in the same 30 days in 2024, CAL said. In September, Taiwan was impacted by Super Typhoon Ragasa, which led to the evacuation of thousands of residents in Hualien County in eastern Taiwan and the deaths of at least 18 people. Airlines cancelled scores of flights as a result of the Super Typhoon. CAL fared better than its local rival, EVA Airways, which posted a 7.2% drop in passenger numbers for the month.
