Air India headed back to Mainland China in 2026

Air India will resume nonstop service to Mainland China from February 1 next year, when it launches flights between Delhi and Shanghai Pudong. Read More » The airline plans to serve Shanghai four times a week with 787-8 aircraft configured with 18 business and 238 economy seats. The flights have been scheduled as an afternoon departure from Delhi and an overnight service from Pudong. The Star Alliance member also flagged launching nonstop Mumbai-Pudong flights next year, subject to regulatory approvals. "The resumption of our Delhi-Shanghai services is more than a route launch," Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. "It is a bridge between two great, ancient civilisations and modern economic powerhouses.
