AirBorneo to add 737-800 operations from July

Read More » The three 737-800s were expected to be based in Kuching and initially serve Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The aircraft will be flown under a wet-lease agreement while the airline works to secure its regulatory approvals to add the type to its fleet, local media reported, citing comments from AirBorneo CEO, Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin. AirBorneo, previously known as MASWings when it was a Malaysia Aviation Group subsidiary, currently operates an all-turboprop fleet of ATR and Viking Air aircraft. "We’re excited to confirm that we are launching our new jet services this July," AirBorneo said on social media. "While we expand into these big cities, our roots remain deep in the community. Kota Kinabalu and Miri will continue to be our vital hubs for rural connectivity, ensuring no one is left behind. Plus, despite global shifts in fuel prices, we are staying committed to keeping our fares fair and accessible."
